🚢 Naval Update
Happy Wipe Day, Canadian Chill!
Today’s wipe brings one of Rust’s biggest updates yet — the Naval Update is officially live. This update introduces boat building and access to the brand‑new Deep Sea zone, opening up an entirely new area to explore, farm, and take on events.
Because this content is brand new for everyone — including us as admins — we want to be transparent about how things will work during the early stages and what to expect over the next couple of weeks.
🌊 Deep Sea Zone Rules (First 2 Weeks)
For the first two weeks, the Deep Sea zone will operate under special trial rules:
The Deep Sea zone is NO‑PVP during this trial period
After two weeks, it will transition into a PvP zone
Players are encouraged to work together to clear scientists and events
Locked crates and airdrops follow normal PvP zone rules
Loot is first come, first serve
Entering and exiting the Deep Sea requires a loading screen, which may cause lag or performance hiccups
Our hosting machine has already been upgraded to help support this update. That said, some servers are reporting issues, so we’ll be closely monitoring performance and making adjustments if needed.
🚤 Boat Rules
Boats introduce new gameplay — and new rules:
Boats can be stolen
Stealing requires dealing damage to the boat — please do not destroy it unnecessarily
If someone is caught stealing:
The owner may KOS
The thief may not shoot back
Boat PvP is only allowed if both parties agree beforehand
Agreement must be made in in‑game chat (not voice chat)
No written agreement = No PvP
🛡️ 24‑Hour Raid Protection Reminder
As always, the first 24 hours after wipe are raid‑free to give everyone a fair start.
Please note:
Boats are NOT covered by raid protection
Boats fall under stealing rules, not raiding rules
💡 Help Us Shape This Update
The Naval Update is new territory for everyone. There may be:
Bugs
Loopholes
Balance issues
If you notice anything or have suggestions after playing, please drop them in the 💡 suggestion‑box. Your feedback will directly help us review and adjust rules after the two‑week trial period.
We’re excited to explore this update with you all. There may be a few bumps along the way, and we truly appreciate your patience while we learn and fine‑tune things together.
Now go build some boats and conquer the seas 🌊
